I practice yoga because I’m a runner, it’s a complimentary training. I find that the stretches of yoga increase my range of motion and it’s always so freeing for the knee afterwards, especially when I do Yin Yoga. However I do prefer the vinyasa style because I’m such an active personality type!
We Are Your Teachers
At our studios, the teachers feel it. This is what happens when you put a bunch of tuned up, plugged in, self aware humans together in a building full of the energy of their students; all of a sudden we feel the deep pull of service and the push of the energetic load of hundreds of people.

I like it here, it’s really fun and sometimes yoga can be too serious, I’m the one who likes to laugh in class and I like that it’s ok to do that. Maybe serious is just how people think it should be? I had a friend who said once “the instructor swore?” and I was like, yeah… thats the yoga for me, it’s really approachable and genuine.
January Student Scholarship
Three times per year, we give two yogis (one from Midland district and one from Edgewater district) the opportunity to access a heavily reduced membership.
We invite members of our community to NOMINATE someone worthy of receiving a 4 month unlimited yoga membership to our studios!
Collecting for the homeless
For many people, feeling merry at this time of year falls second place to feelings of survival & safety.
For many in our local community, food clothing and shelter trump Christmas decorations and family gatherings.
You can help.

Honestly, its helped me reclaim a modicum of the pride I used to have in my body, prior to stuffing up my knees and being immobile for quite some time. And even though I struggle through some of the poses with my knees, I can always adapt. I can’t do everything, but you don’t have to do it all, to get the most out of yoga….

Yoga and Your Menstrual Cycle
The womb holds an incredible ability to manifest, and create within our lives. An energy not to be reckoned with. So, it makes sense that in history we continuously see it misunderstood and misrepresented.
Pushed aside and deemed somewhat of a nuisance, with women in some cultures banned from entering houses of prayer as they were viewed as ‘unclean’ during their shedding days.
This isn’t uncommon.
Vital Beat in The Community Newspapers
“Taking her yoga studio online was not solely about Vital Beat Yoga owner Kaye Waterhouse keeping her business afloat when COVID-19 shut its doors in Midland and Edgewater.
‘It was most importantly to support the physical and mental wellbeing of our student base’, Waterhouse said.
Vital Beat in The West Australian
“The practice of yoga is my sanctuary when things seem so uncertain, and if I feel that way, then surely many others do too. So I cant stop fighting to keep this community together because we all need it (social distance or not). The response has been phenomenal.”
Creating a personal altar
People have been gathering around altars for thousands of years. It is an ancient tradition that can take on many shapes and forms. An altar is a focal point within a space or outdoor area that gives us a place to anchor too, and sitting before an altar gives us a place to arrive.
Get Yo’ Booch On
Kombucha, or “booch” is a fermented tea that is thought to have originated in China. The starter is usually called a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast) that lives off caffeine and sugar to produce fermented tea that contains probiotic cultures and enzymes to support the immune system of the gut, & aides digestion.

The Power of Sankalpa
Do you set an intention for your yoga practice? A Sankalpa is a sacred vow, an intention, or an affirmation, for your practice that steers away from goal-orientation, to a more over-arching view of how you want to live within your life and body, both on and off the mat.
